SUPER STREAM

Is your business ready for take-off?

All Employers need to be Super Stream Compliant by 30 June 2016.  This means you need to be paying your super electronically in a standard format so that it can be transmitted electronically across the super system – between employers, super funds and the ATO.

If your business is on Xero – you will be smiling as you head off down the runway.  Xero Payroll has a fully automated super system that is gold level certified for super stream.   And processing super payments is so easy and time efficient that it’s ridiculous.  We ♥ it!

HERE’S THE HARD FACTS (available to download as a PDF)

All Employers need to be Super Stream Compliant by 30 June 2016.  This means you need to be paying your super electronically in a standard format so that it can be transmitted electronically across the super system – between employers, super funds and the ATO.

If you only pay personal superannuation contributions for yourself or your super is paid to related Self-Managed Super Fund – then you do not need to use Super Stream.

However if you have employees, you need to make sure you ready.  If you are like most small businesses, your employees have a number of different super funds between them and paying super can be a bit of a nightmare.   The good news is that once you have implemented the best Super Stream system for your business, paying super will be much easier.

What are the Options:

  1. Use your Payroll Software system – If you are using a software provider to process your payroll, check if they are Super Stream Ready and inquire about the steps you need to take to get it set up. If you are not loyal to any particular software program – now may be a good time to consider a change.  There are some really great systems available and you should take the time to weigh them up against each other.

  1. Use the Super Funds on-line system – You will need to register with each of your employee’s Retail Super Funds to use their on-line contribution processing. If you have a number of employees in different funds this will mean multiple log-in’s and payments.  You should definitely consider more time efficient options.

  1. Use a Super Clearing House – You send a single electronic payment, together with contribution data for all employees and the clearing house does the rest. The ATO has a free clearing house of businesses with under 19 employees or turnover under $2M.

If it all seems a bit too daunting, we can help you assess your options to come up with the best system for your business. Fill in the below form, and we’ll get onto you.

Hi. I’m Eryan Haddon, one of the partners here at Wardles and as crazy as it may sound, I love what I do. I love coming to work each day and being surrounded by our dynamic and forward thinking team. I love working with clients that are motivated and driven, with big goals and even bigger dreams. It is enormously rewarding to be a part of helping people achieve their goals which is why I make sure that it is on my to do list every day. I am particularly passionate about empowering women with the skills, resources and confidence they need to pursue their business or professional endeavours with flair and success. I have founded a community Network Group “WIMAN” which aims to bring like minded, entrepreneurial women together for learning, support and inspiration. I like to keep fit and healthy and enjoy a good game of touch footy, although I am guilty of being very competitive. I am also guilty of the occasional (ok – if I’m honest – frequent) glass of wine to wind day after a big day. My most important priority though is my family. My husband Jason, and two daughters Amy and Ally, are without a doubt my greatest source of inspiration to strive for more and to try each day to become a better version of myself then I was yesterday.
