Are you still unsure about whether your business needs an online presence? Unfortunately if you aren’t online – your business will very quickly be left in the dark ages.

I understand that taking the plunge, managing a website, social media, emarketing and blogging may seem like a daunting experience – But if you don’t jump on board this digital evolution, you’ll quickly become as obsolete as the cave man.

iStock_000044965076_MediumThe dark ages of marketing are officially over, and I am here to help you evolve into a modern-day marketing genius.

Building your online presence can have a major impact on your business. Don’t believe me? Read this….

Opportunities – According to google, 97% of consumers use the web to search for local businesses. That means, that over 90% of the time people will head over to google and type in ‘Shoe Shop Mount Isa’ (for example) – Think about the amount of people from different backgrounds searching 24/7… If you don’t have a website, or your website isn’t on the first page of google… You are missing out on huge opportunities.

Your Brand – As industries grow more and more competitive, it’s important for small businesses to show the world how they are different from the rest – This is done by building your brand. This is more than just having a website, it is about utilising all forms of digital and social marketing… Consider this an extension of your brand that never sleeps!

ENDLESS Marketing Opportunities – You’ve got a new promotion and want to get it out there, what do you do? A) Use costly methods such as flyers, mail drops or purchase an ad in the newspaper OR B) Go to the internet and market online through email blasts, social media posts, etc. Option B is (in most cases) free and can quickly spread from 1, to 10, to 100, to 1000 or even 10,000 people in a matter of 24 hours.

Knowing your customer – Building client and customer relationships is a huge part of successful business. Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Email Marketing allow you to quickly locate your customers and engage with them on a deeper level.

Tracking – With the right programs (Facebook Insights, Mailchimp, Google Analytics) you can learn a lot about who’s reading what, who’s clicking were, what was or wasn’t successful, best times for sending/posting and even what your customers want to hear more off. How awesome is that?

Instead of beating people over the head with your cave man marketing tactics, online marketing will reap so many more benefits, and in most cases, save you some money as well.

Jessica Kitchin

Administration Manager / Marketing Manager

Hi – I’m Jess and am the Business Manager here at Wardles. Having started here in 2010, I have worked in a range of different roles, building my skills and experience on the job and through my studies towards my Bachelor of Business (Management) at CSU. I oversee the operations and make sure we are all working together to create magic inside and outside the firm. I am on the long road to finding my passion, but I am certain it will be something in the creative field. I’m always thinking of new, bright and colourful ideas – and can’t wait to see them in action. I am able to utilise this at Wardles through event planning, the website and multiple social media platforms – I love it! I recently drew and designed the cover of the Ink Project by IBKG – which was an exciting experience for me and really ignited that creative flair. I’m a serial chocolate eater and coffee addict. When away from work or studies – you’ll catch me down at boot camp (trying to work off the chocolate I ate the day before), binge-watching a TV series with my partner Sam, or chatting away with my long term companion, a Jack Russell x Shitzu named Tilly.
